Where it all began
Our Story Began in 1957.
Founded in 1957, the Gear Jammers Car Club was born from friendship and a shared passion for automobiles. That year, a group of 12 friends attended a car show in Andalusia, Alabama, and returned home inspired by what they had experienced. From that moment, the idea of forming their own club took shape-one centered around camaraderie, craftsmanship, and a genuine love for cars and motorcycles.
In its early years, the Gear Jammers embraced both cars and motorcycles, gathering to share ideas, stories, and time on the road. As the club grew, so did its involvement in organized events, eventually placing a strong focus on car shows and cruise-ins that brought together enthusiasts from across Baldwin County and surrounding areas. These events became not only a way to celebrate automotive history, but also an opportunity to strengthen relationships within the community.
Today, the Gear Jammers continue that tradition with pride. Each March, the club hosts its annual car show at the William F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette, Alabama-an even that reflects the club’s deep respect for veterans and its commitment to giving back. In addition to this signature event, members regularly participate in car shows and cruise-ins throughout the region, representing the Gear Jammers wherever the road leads.
Service has always been at the heart of the Gear Jammers’ mission. The club is a passionate supporter of local charities, including Mary’s Shelter, the Child Advocacy Center, and area food pantries. Members are also honored to support and assist local veterans’ organizations, offering their time and resources to causes that strengthen and uplift the community they call home.
As of 2026, the Gear Jammers Car Club proudly marks 69 years of continuous fellowship, service, and automotive enthusiasm. What began as a simple idea among friends has grown into a lasting legacy-on built on tradition, generosity, and a shared love for classic vehicles. With decades of history behind them and many miles still ahead, the Gear Jammers remain dedicated to preserving the past while driving forward together.
